Main projects

CCASALI

The Climate Change Adaptation in the Southern Australian Livestock Industries project (CCASALI) is a collaboration between Meat and Livestock Australia, Dairy Australia, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the University of Melbourne and the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research.

As part of this project, IMJ are continuing to develop and apply the biophysical pasture simulation models SGS Pasture Model and DairyMod.

CLASS

IMJ developed the pasture and crop simulation sub-models that are used in the Catchment scale multiple-Landuse Atmosphere Soil water and Solute transport model (CLASS). This work was commissioned by the Soils and Salinity Team, NSW Department of Sustainable Natural Resources.

BRS Pasture Simulation Model

A pasture simulation model was developed for the Bureau of Rural Sciences, Australia.

Projects

WFSAT

The Whole Farm Systems Analysis and Tools project (WFSAT) is a collaboration between Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Dairy Australia (DA), AgResearch (New Zealand), the University of Melbourne and ourselves, for the development of a biophysical pasture simulation model.

We have developed three models as part of this project:

  • SGS Pasture Model
  • DairyMod
  • EcoMod

Each has the same underlying biophysical structure, but with different management options to suit the particular industry.
